Our Mission

Drawing from its vision, Purvanchal Pragati Samaj is dedicated to creating a better world for everyone. With a bold commitment to progress, it strives to be a driving force for positive change -- fearlessly pursuing its vision and staying resilient in the face of challenges, never allowing obstacles to hinder the good that can be achieved.

Our Vision

We envision a North East India where socioeconomically marginalized communities have access to the resources needed for a better quality of life — where the youth are empowered with skills and confidence, where health and well-being are prioritized, where ecological resources are respected,, and human communities are able to thrive in peace and mutual respect and cooperation.

Our Work

We work in five of the seven states of North East India. Our commitments are primarily in the field of education, with a network of 28 school and 3 centers of higher education -- two colleges and one teacher's training institute.

We are also engage in social research, provide legal aid and training, and work toward the protection, promotion and documentation of indigenous languages and cultures.
